EASY CHRISTMAS COOKIES

You'll find some easy Christmas cookies in this section, some different, some classics, but all mouth watering. All have past the taste test by me and much of my friends and family. Many are my favorites.

Of course, I've included the classics, such as chocolate chip, peanut butter kiss, and oatmeal chocolate chip, but browse this section and you'll find some different cookie recipes that will be sure to please everyone.

My family would always plan a day of cooking Christmas cookies - usually a Saturday. I look back on those times with very fond memories. I would encourage you to do that with your children. If they're like me, they will remember the experience all their lives.

To be time efficient, it's important to plan your baking so that there's always a tray in the oven. My old fashioned oven will only accommodate 1 cookie sheet at a time, so for me, that is most important. Unless your oven is designed for it, such as convection ovens, don't try to bake 2 trays of cookies at a time. They will not cook evenly.

Just be patient and know that if you want to bake several recipes, it will take some time. Sit back and have fun with it.

Here's an idea for a simple yet great easy Christmas cookie treat:

Using crescent rolls in a tube, unroll dough and place triangles together to form a large rectangle. Pinch to seal. Spread with a filling. Roll up dough jelly roll style, then cut into sections. Place on cookie sheet and bake according to directions on can.

You can make these using any number of fillings, butter/brown sugar and nuts, fruit spread, cream cheese and marmalade, or create your own.
